SOLD NOVEMBER 2023 - REPRESENTED BUYER & SELLER
This was one of my favorite transactions for a number of reasons. The seller was the original owner of the home which was built in 1968. She had countless memories and attachments to the home. It was the home she raised her children in and it was cherished by the entire family. As most of the home was original, the home needed quite a bit of updating, and her hope was for another family to purchase it who would make it their own. After falling out of escrow a couple of weeks after going on the market, I was approached by a couple who had kept their eye on the home since it had gone live. They asked me to represent them in the purchase of the home. They told me that when they saw the home online, before even seeing it in person, they knew it was the home for them. Once I found out I would be representing both sides in the transaction my skills as an agent were put to the test. My role in the transaction naturally shifted and I became more of a mediator to make sure to represent both sides efficiently and well. Navigating the escrow process brought ups and downs to both parties, as it usually does, but with the skills and knowledge I’ve learned being a part of the Scott Goshorn team, I was able to help both sides get through it. At the end of the transaction the buyers let me know how excited they were to buy this home. They told me how they loved all of the details the character of the home offered and just wanted to put some TLC into it to bring it back to life. They also let me know they planned to one day start a family of their own in it. The seller let me know how pleased she was to be able to pass on her home to such a lovely couple. Stories like these make the sale of a home feel like much more than just a transaction. I am so happy to have been entrusted with the sale of this home and it feels amazing to have both sides pleased with the ending of this deal. - Kimberely Paladini
